Emergency Preparedness
Halal certified, shelf stable meals for emergency kits, shelters and disaster relief. Fully cooked, safe to eat straight from the pouch and stored at room temperature.

Halal Meals Belong in Every Emergency Plan
When the power goes out, the roads close, or an evacuation order comes through, the last thing anyone should worry about is whether the food in the kit meets their dietary needs. For nearly 35 years, J&M has delivered halal certified, shelf stable meals that naturally fit into emergency planning for households, community organizations, mosques, schools, and relief agencies alike. Every J&M® meat meal is Dhabiha Halal certified, and each My Own Meal® (MOM) vegetarian meal is dual certified both kosher and halal.
That means one supply of meals can serve a family, a congregation, or a shelter population with mixed dietary requirements. For organizations that plan for both Muslim and Jewish community members, stocking MOM vegetarian meals alongside J&M halal meat meals keeps everyone covered.
Real Food, Ready When You Need It
Emergency food doesn’t have to mean bland rations. J&M® and MOM® meals are fully cooked, made with no artificial flavors or colors, and available in 10 varieties so a kit isn’t the same meal five days in a row. They can be eaten as-is straight from the pouch with no preparation at all, which matters most when there’s no power and no safe water.
If heat is available, they taste even better warmed: about 60 seconds in a microwave, or 3-4 minutes submerged in hot water on a camp stove or stovetop. There is no need to draw down an emergency water supply just to eat, since our meals are neither freeze-dried nor dehydrated.
Easy to Store, Easy to Rotate
Every stand-up, shelf stable pouch conveniently stores in a closet, pantry, garage shelf, or supply room. Keep them at ambient, dry-storage temperature and avoid extremes. Never put them in a freezer or refrigerator, or store them in an area much above 80°F (26°C), as this can damage the packaging or affect quality. Check the dates on emergency meal stocks and rotate them into everyday use to reduce waste and keep supplies fresh and tasty.
